EyeRoute Synergy

EyeRoute Synergy (Topcon Medical Systems, Inc., Oakland, New Jersey) provides eye care professionals with the ability to collect, store, manage, access, and compare digital ophthalmic data, according to a company news release. The system allows users to communicate and share information with colleagues in real time through its secure Synergy Community Portal and enables the automatic registration and alignment of fundus images, regardless of the procedure or camera manufacturer. It is designed to offer enhanced workflow through its instant image access and remote accessibility.

VisuMax Incision for ICR

The new VisuMax Incision for ICR option (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany) allows surgeons to create corneal tunnels for the insertion of intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRSs) in an uncomplicated and precise procedure. In addition to making 360° incisions, it can create tunnel segments between 90° and 270°. These partial tunnel cuts avoid unnecessary incisions into the cornea. The surgeon can select 0, 1, or 2 access incisions to be set. As part of an efficient workflow, once defined, parameter sets can be saved and reloaded to easily accommodate all common ring types used today.
