  • Stepwise upgrades between systems available

Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG introduced a femtosecond laser platform designed for a broad variety of applications, including cataract surgery. The Femto LDV Z models, which include the Z2, Z4, and Z6, perform various cornea and presbyopia treatments, according to company literature. The Z models operate at pulse frequencies in the megahertz range and with very low pulse energy, allowing the threshold for tissue disruption to be reached at short interaction time. The Z models are designed to be moved between operating venues with ease. Stepwise upgrades between systems can be performed at any time on site, according to Ziemer, including an upgrade possibility once cataract options are available and approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.
