FDA clears Pfizer, BioNTech's COVID-19 Booster Dose for 65 and Older, At-Risk Groups
The FDA on Wednesday authorized a single booster dose of Pfizer and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty for people aged 65 years and older to be administered at least 6 months after completion of the primary series. The emergency-use authorization (EUA) has also been amended to include use of a booster dose in individuals 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19, as well as individuals aged 18 through 64 years whose frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 puts them at high risk of serious complications of COVID-19, according to a FirstWord report.
