Share Your Feedback With Us

The editors of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today Europe would like to thank our readers for the positive feedback you have provided us with during the first 6 months of our new publication. We recognize that you have many reading material choices in the ophthalmic field, and we are honored that so many of you choose to read CRSToday Europe.

We have had the opportunity to meet many of you at recent industry meetings and conferences. It has been a pleasure learning about our readership and what you need from our publication. We look forward to meeting more of you at the ESCRS meeting in London. Please stop by our booth in the exhibit hall and introduce yourself.

In the meantime, let us hear from you! Please send us e-mails with article suggestions, Letters to the Editor, comments, and of course, criticisms. We welcome any article submissions or proposals for future content. We would like to give our readers what they want and feature content that you are interested in reading. We strive to provide you with the most up-to-date and clinically useful information from the field of cataract and refractive surgery, and we depend on you to help us.

As the advances in refractive surgery continue to heighten, so does the potential for good patient outcomes in corneal surgery. In this issue of CRSToday Europe, we offer a special focus on the cornea that highlights some of the field's recent advances. Over the last decade, surgeons have strived to provide patients with better visual outcomes by selectively replacing their diseased corneal layers. In our special focus, we highlight one of those techniques, Decemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty. We also investigate the use of intracorneal ring segments and cross-linking with riboflavin. Other notable articles dissect options for reducing haze and improving patient rehabilitation after corneal transplantation and LASIK. It is important to remember that future research will hopefully uncover the reasons behind donor rejection. Much research is still needed in this area.

We also have an interesting refractive feature highlighting high-technology diagnostic tools and how to update your practice's technology. This feature — written by experts in the refractive field — explores the technologies from Heidelberg Engineering, Nidek, Carl Zwiss Meditec AG, Oculus Optikgerate GmbH and Ultralink LLC. Furthermore, check out our continuing column on how to improve your practice.

As CRSToday Europe continues to grow as a publication, we look forward to growing our circulation as well. Please pass on our issues for your colleagues to read.
