The AT.LISA Toric from Carl Zeiss Meditec (Jena, Germany) is a multifocal toric IOL designed for microincision cataract surgery (MICS). LISA is an acronym outlining some of the multifocal IOL's features: Light distributed asymmetrically (65% for distance, 35% for near), Independence from pupil size, SMP technology used to reduce light scattering, and Aberration-correcting aspheric optic. The AT-LISA Toric combines astigmatism correction and multifocality into one IOL.
The one-piece IOL, 11 mm in overall length with 0° angulation plate haptics, is designed for implantation in the capsular bag with an injector through an incision as small as 1.5 mm. The material is a hydrophilic acrylic with a hydrophobic surface. The 6-mm optic has smooth steps for diffractive multifocality on its anterior surface and incorporates negative spherical aberration to compensate for the human cornea's positive spherical aberration.
The AT.LISA Toric is available in spherical powers from -10.00 to 32.00 D in 0.50 D increments and with cylindrical adds of 1.00 to 12.00 D in 0.50 D increments.
