The AT LISA tri 839MP (Carl Zeiss Meditec) is a trifocal IOL designed for cataract and presbyopic patients who lead active lives. According to the company, with the AT LISA tri, patients can switch almost naturally among near, intermediate, and distance vision. The IOL features asymmetrical light distribution across three foci (50% distance, 20% intermediate, 30% near), and the transmission of light energy is increased to maintain contrast sensitivity and reduce visual disturbance. The AT LISA tri provides enhanced intermediate vision with its addition of 1.66 D, even under poor light conditions, according to the company. It is designed for implantation after microincision cataract surgery, to avoid induced astigmatism and reduce higher-order aberrations. The preloaded lens is implanted with the Bluemixs 180 injector (Carl Zeiss Meditec) through a 1.8-mm incision. The IOL also features an antiposterior capsular opacification (PCO) profile that reinforces the effect of the square edges for double prevention of PCO formation.
