A New Endothelial Keratoplasty Technique

Dr. Agarwal demonstrates pre-Descemet endothelial keratoplasty (PDEK), which involves the transplantation of Descemet membrane, the endothelium, and Dua layer. A PDEK graft is harvested by the pneumatic dissection of the donor cornea through a type 1 big bubble. According to Dr. Agarwal, the technique, which does not require advanced equipment, results in early visual rehabilitation without interface changes. PDEK grafts can be harvested in donor eyes of all ages.
