According to company literature, EasyPhaco products maintain anterior chamber depth and stability by using high vacuum and high flow to pull and hold fragments together and then immediately vacuum emulsified material. The EasyTip 2.2 mm can be used for 2.2- to 2.4-mm incisions. The EasyTip CO-MICS can be used for 1.6- to 1.8-mm incisions in coaxial MICS surgical procedures.
Eyejet Preloaded IOLs
Morcher GmbH (Stuttgart, Germany) features two Eyejet preloaded IOLs—the Lotus Hydrophobic IOL and the BioComFold Hydrophilic IOL. The Lotus IOL consists of a copolymer acrylate/methacrylate material with a water content of less than 0.5% and a refractive index of 1.51. According to company literature, the Lotus lens unfolds in the capsular bag in a slow and controlled manner. Instances of posterior capsular opacification (PCO) are reduced due to the IOL's sharp edges and capsular adhesion. The Lotus IOL also contains antiglistening properties. The BioComFold IOL is made with a hydrophilic acrylic material consisting of a 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) and methylmethacrylate (MMA) copolymer. The lens has as a water content of 28% and a refractive index of 1.46. Like Morcher's Lotus IOL, the BioComFold lens unfolds in the capsular bag in a slow and controlled manner and has a low PCO rate. The lens is highly biocompatible, can be implanted through a small incision, and is Nd:YAG-laser resistant. According to the company, the sharp edges of the lens reduce instances of secondary cataract.
